Like many Israelis, I received a draft notice during high school for my mandatory service at the IDF. Due to medical issues, I was offered a discharge from military service, but I chose to volunteer for military service, and after going through one of the most prestigious selection processes in Israel I was chosen to serve as a journalist in the IDF’s radio station “Galei Tzahal”. Galei Tzahal runs two of the most listened radio stations in Israel: GLZ for news broadcasts, and GLGLZ for music.
IDF Radio's Journalism course is often regarded as the quickest and most effective 'communications degree' one can achieve. After completing a demanding two-month program led by Israel's top communication experts, I joined the station’s newly formed Digital department. Starting as a Digital News Editor, I quickly advanced over three years to become the station’s first Social Media Manager, a News Editor for radio broadcasts, and a nighttime radio anchor.

First, I spearheaded a social media strategy that significantly amplified our presence on Twitter. Focusing on Twitter was strategic; recognizing that our station's 12 hours of live news broadcasts daily could effectively use this platform to enhance audience engagement and promote content follow-ups.

(Berlin, 2016)
I was at the helm of digital operations for the flagship news program, directed by the station’s Chief Commander, Yaron Dekel, and Amit Segal, Israel's most prominent political journalist.
Our efforts made the hashtag #DekelSegal a regular feature among the top trends on Israeli Twitter every week.

A cool project I made: Breaking news in a TL;DR edition!

My time at GLGLZ was marked by numerous unique and inventive campaigns, including setting up a Tinder account on Valentine’s Day for one of our top presenters and demonstrating our creative approach to engaging with our audience.
As a Digital Editor for GLGLZ, Israel’s most listened-to radio program, my role encompassed everything from producing videos for music shows to pioneering projects that merged radio with digital media.
One notable initiative had us coordinating with drivers at the same location to activate their wipers, creating a memorable live moment simultaneously.
